NEW ULM LOSES TO BREEZY POINT, 4-3, DESPITE HUGE SHOT ADVANTAGE

Breezy Point and New Ulm were tied 3-3 midway through the third period. Breezy Point’s Cyril Nagurski scored at 13:31 into the third period to give Breezy Point a 4-3 lead. New Ulm goalie, Jon Albers, was pulled for an extra attacker with 1:28 remaining in regulation time. New Ulm was unable to answer back and ultimately fell short with shots favoring New Ulm 46-25.

Breezy Point goalie, Bronson Moore, blocked shot after shot totaling 43 saves as the New Ulm offense created multiple scoring chances.

Alex Egle opened the scoring for New Ulm late in the first period with an assist from Stephan Hermkes. Jared Erickson and Colton Raymond also scored one goal each for New Ulm. Sam Wenner, Alex Nagel, Jacob Padley and Erik Rainersson each contributed one assist. Jon Albers stopped 21 of the 25 shots he faced for New Ulm.

Breezy Point’s Austin Langworthy tallied one goal and one assist. Tyler Larwood, Josh Laven, and Cyril Nagurski also scored one goal each for Breezy Point. Steven Kukla, Dan Wieber, Tristyn Sabina, Andrew Heckaman, Wyatt Stotts, and Bronson Moore all recorded one assist for Breezy Point.

New Ulm and Breezy Point were both unable to capitalize on their power plays. New Ulm totaled six penalty minutes and went 0-for-1 on the power play. Three minor penalties were assessed to Trevor Woytcke, Sam Storlie, and Orlando Scherz for New Ulm. Breezy Point totaled four penalty minutes and went 0-for-2 on the power play.
