NEW ULM EDGES DIVISION LEADING GRANITE CITY, 3-2, AND PUSHES SEASON-HIGH WINNING STREAK TO SIX GAMES

New Ulm started the third period trailing Granite City 1-0. New Ulm scored three goals in the third period to take the lead and the, 3-2, win. Shots were 31-25 in favor of the Steel.

Andrej Jamnicky opened the scoring for Granite City at 1:43 into the second period. The assists were credited to Jack Petroske and Chase Di Bari.

Luc Kreuser, with assists from Jacob Padley and Bennett Witta, got New Ulm on the board at 1:06 into the third period to tie the game up at 1-1. Alex Egle, assisted by Nicholas Campbell and Dylan Leivermann, gave New Ulm a 2-1 lead with a power-play goal at 5:21 into the third period.

Granite City’s Jack Petroske, with an assist from Jordan Olson, scored on the power play just over a minute after Egle’s goal to tie the game up at 2-2.

Jacob Padley scored the game-winning goal at 8:14 into the third period. Vincent Billing and Stephan Hermkes were credited with the assists.

Nathan Siclovan made 23 saves on the 25 shots he faced for New Ulm. Granite City’s goaltender, Mac Berglove, stopped 28 of the 31 shots New Ulm generated.

New Ulm totaled eight penalty minutes on four infractions and went 1-for-6 on the power play. Granite City had a total of 22 penalty minutes on seven infractions and went 1-for-4 on the power play.
