FRITZ BELISLE SIGNS NAHL TENDER

The New Ulm Steel is proud to announce that forward Fritz Belisle has signed a tender agreement with the NAHL’s 2016-17 Central Division Champions, the Minot Minotauros.

“I chose to sign with Minot because they are a great organization. I practiced with the team earlier this year and I loved the rink and its facilities and the team chemistry was awesome. Minot also has a great coaching staff, who do a great job of developing their players to get them to the next level. I am very excited for this opportunity with the Minotauros,” Belisle said.

Belisle, a native of Red Wing, Minnesota, played his first two seasons of junior hockey with the Steel where he tallied 43 goals and 41 assists for a total of 84 points in 99 games played.

“This organization is truly one of the best at developing their players and moving them on to the next level. I’ve played for the Steel for the past two years, and I can’t thank this organization enough for what they’ve done to help me develop as a hockey player and as a person,” Belisle said.

Belisle, 19, was selected and participated in the 2017 NA3HL Top Prospects Tournament where he contributed two assists. The 5’10’’/175lb forward was the Steel’s point and goal leader for the 2016-17 season and was a key player in the Steel’s successful past two seasons.

“I couldn’t have gotten this opportunity to sign an NAHL tender without the help from the Steel staff and all the players that pushed me to bring my best everyday,” Belisle said.

Prior to his time with the Steel, Belisle played one season for the Colorado Thunderbirds U16 in the Tier 1 Elite Hockey League and two seasons at Red Wing High School.
