NEW ULM TAKES DOWN BREEZY POINT, 5-2

New Ulm commanded the first period, outshooting Breezy Point 14-3. Jimmy Miller opened the scoring 43 seconds into the game and Alex Nagel buried two to give New Ulm a 3-0 lead.

Breezy Point came out hungry in the second period. Danny Wieber and Austin Langworthy each scored a power-play goal. Jared Fladebo, Langworthy and Andrew Heckaman each contributed one assist.

Luc Kreuser scored New Ulm’s lone goal in the second period at 9:51. Kirk Coppock added a fifth goal at 2:17 of the third period. Trevor Woytcke, Kreuser, Coppock, Sam Storlie, Dylan Boysen, Nagel, and Max Kjome each tallied one assist and Tom Reilly added two.

Ryan Bielenberg faced 26 shots and made 24 saves for New Ulm. Breezy Point’s goaltender, Bronson Moore, made 27 saves on the 32 shots New Ulm generated.

New Ulm totaled six penalty minutes on three infractions and went 0-for-5 on the power play. Breezy Point had a total of 39 penalty minutes on five infractions and went 2-for-3 on the power play.
