Alexandria started strong, scoring five goals in the first period. New Ulm was outshot by Alexandria 37-21.

Luke Benson, Logan Nelson, Matt Dahlseide, Connor Beltz and Tanner Frerichs each scored a goal in the first period. Nelson scored his second goal of the game in the second period.

Dahlseide registered three assists. Alec Skar contributed two assists and Jack Westlund, Tristen Poliseno, Nelson, Brett Meister and Marshall Tschida each tallied one assist.

Ryan Bielenberg made 31 saves on the 37 shots he faced for New Ulm. Alexandria’s goaltender, Brady Meyers, registered his first shutout of the season, making 21 saves.

New Ulm totaled 37 penalty minutes on eight infractions and went 0-for-8 on the power play. Alexandria had a total of 14 penalty minutes on seven infractions and went 1-for-7 on the power play.
