In a frustrating game against North Iowa, New Ulm was able to come away with one goal late in the third period. Alex Nagel stole the puck at the top of the circle and carried it to the net. Nagel passed it across to Ryan Smith who wristed the puck over Colin Cain’s blocker and into the back of the net.
North Iowa’s David Dolter and Cameron Fagerlee each scored a power-play goal and contributed one assist. Josh Arnold, Connor Clemons, Brendan Studioso, and Bryceton Butkiewicz each netted one. Tyler Bump added two assists and Jason Minor, Peter Verstegen, Studioso, Clemons and Jake Joyaux each tallied one assist.
Ryan Kenny faced 34 shots and made 28 saves for New Ulm. North Iowa’s goaltender, Cain, made 18 saves on the 19 shots he faced.
New Ulm totaled 12 penalty minutes on six infractions and went 0-for-2 on the power play. North Iowa had a total of six penalty minutes on three infractions and went 2-for-5 on the power play.
