NEW ULM SHUT OUT BY WILLMAR, 3-0

The New Ulm Steel generated just one shot on goal in the first period.

Jordan Cooper, with assists from Zach Martin and Wyatt Toll, scored the eventual game-winning goal for the Willmar WarHawks on the power play 13:19 into the first period.

Ryan Kenny kept it a one-goal game through the first and second periods, stopping 29 shots. Kenny made a total of 41 saves on 44 shots for New Ulm.

Martin, in addition to his assist, scored a pair of goals in the third period. Cooper registered assists on each of the goals. Jacob Takashima and Riley Dixon contributed one assist.

Willmar’s goaltender, Kaden Ericson, made 23 saves to get the shutout.

New Ulm totaled 10 penalty minutes on five infractions and went 0-for-2 on the power play. Willmar had a total of four penalty minutes on two infractions and went 1-for-5 on the power play.
