The New Ulm Steel showed no mercy against the Breezy Point North Stars, taking a 4-0 lead in the first ten minutes of the game. By the end of the second period, Breezy Point was trailing New Ulm 7-0.

Brandon Mehlhop may not have scored a goal, but did make a big contribution to the win, assisting on four goals. Steven Mordini and Hunter Johnson tallied two goals each for each New Ulm.

Austin Langworthy, Ryan Smith, Trevor Woytcke, Nick Wieben and Max Kjome netted one goal.

Breezy Point’s goals were scored by Reid Morin and Alex Flicek. Lucas Ehrlich played the first two periods, facing 28 shots and making 21 saves. Micah Hershey replaced Ehrlich in net to start the third period. Hershey made 17 saves on the 19 shots he faced.

Ryan Kenny stopped 27 of the 29 shots he faced for New Ulm.

New Ulm totaled 10 penalty minutes on five infractions and went 1-for-3 on the power play. Breezy Point had a total of 38 penalty minutes on seven infractions and went 0-for-3 on the power play.
