The New Ulm Steel’s 2017-18 season came to an end Saturday night at Sleepy Eye Arena, where they lost to the Granite City Lumberjacks, 3-2, in Game 2 of the West Division Finals. This is the third straight year that New Ulm and Granite City battled in the West Division Finals.

In Game 1, New Ulm lost to Granite City, 6-1. Through the midway point of the second period, it was a tight game with the scoreboard showing 2-1. After the season-ending injuries of defensemen Trevor Woytcke and Steven Mordini, New Ulm couldn’t keep up and Granite City didn’t waste any time putting pucks in the net. Box Score/Photos
