David Becker started the scoring for Twin City on a night that would put Twin City over the hump with a 5-3 win over the Breezy Point North Stars in White Bear Lake.
Becker scored the game’s first goal at 14:54 of the first stanza on a power play. The goal had assists from James Hale and Matthias Ahman. Breezy Point’s Ryan Herbert tied the game at 16:01 on even strength from Sean Viti and Seyia Hayata. The goal was especially notable due to it occurring as Yegor Paily had come out of the penalty box for the North Stars.
Jordan Pitlick put Twin City up 2-1 through twenty with his goal at 18:51. Aharon Lara and Jay Paul assisted Pitlick. Shots were 7-5 to Twin City through twenty minutes.
Aharon Lara put Twin City up 3-1 with his second point of the night at 3:35 when he scored. Jared Erickson and Jordan Pitlick assisted, and the assist for Pitlick was his second of three points on the night. The rest of the second period saw goals scored by Breezy Point 1:35 apart, as Paily scored for the North Stars to cut the score to 3-2 at 16:04. Nick Blanchette would score for the North Stars at 17:35 to tie the game at three through two periods.
Lance Carney and Jordan Pitlick added power play goals in the third period at 4:15 and 18:38 to seal victory for the home team. Twin City outshot Breezy Point 26-21, and the Steel were clicking on power plays as well, going 3-5.
