Breezy Point’s goalie, Bronson Moore, had another fantastic night in net. New Ulm generated 39 shots on goal. Moore successfully stopped 38 of the 39 shots he faced.
The game stayed scoreless through the first period. Breezy Point’s Steven Kukla opened the scoring with a power play goal at 5:52 into the second period with assists from Tyler Larwood and Andrew Heckaman. Kukla scored a second power play goal at 4:13 into the third period with assists again being credited to Larwood and Heckaman. Josh Laven also scored for Breezy Point in the second period with an assist from Tristyn Sabina.
New Ulm’s starting goalie, Jon Albers, made 26 saves and allowed two goals with one being a power play goal. Brady Boudreau started out the third period in goal due to an issue with Albers’ skate. Boudreau played for a little over five minutes. He blocked four out of the five shots he faced, allowing one power play goal.
New Ulm had a total of seven penalties with Tim O’Connor serving three of them. New Ulm went 1-for-4 on the power play. Breezy Point totaled five penalties and went 2-for-6 on the power play.
