New Ulm was leading 3-1 at the end of the second period. New Ulm scored three goals in the third period to seal the 6-1 win over Alexandria. Shots were 38-26 in favor of New Ulm.

Fritz Belisle, after registering one goal and three assists Thursday vs. Alexandria and one goal and two assists Friday vs. Willmar, finished his spectacular weekend with a hat trick. Belisle scored his first goal at 5:20 into the first period with an assist from Alex Nagel. Belisle scored his second goal just 36 seconds into the second period on the power play, assisted by Alex Nagel and Bennett Witta. Belisle’s third goal, to get the hat trick, was scored on the power play at 12:44 into the third period with assists from Bennett Witta and Luc Kreuser. Belisle collected five goals and five assists totaling 10 points over the weekend.

Following Fritz Belisle’s two goals, Nicholas Campbell, assisted by Dylan Lievermann, scored at 6:51 into the second period to give New Ulm a 3-0 lead.

Emil Lindfors scored the only goal for Alexandria at 9:51 into the second period to make the score 3-1 to start the third period. Assists were credited to Tosten Mann and Connor Nilson.

Trevor Woytcke scored in the third period on the power play, assisted by Sam Wenner and Luc Kreuser, at 8:02 to extend New Ulm’s lead to 4-1. New Ulm’s final goal of the night was scored by Luc Kreuser with 4:39 left to play. Assists were credited to Alex Egle and Stephan Hermkes.

Nathan Siclovan saved 25 of the 26 shots he faced for New Ulm. Alexandria’s goaltender, Brey Effertz stopped 32 of the 36 shots New Ulm generated.

Alexandria was called for nine minor penalties for a total of 18 penalty minutes and went 1-for-3 on the power play. Stephan Hermkes, Bennett Witta, Fritz Belisle, Nicholas Campbell, Sam Storlie and Wyatt Peterson each sat for one minor penalty. New Ulm totaled 12 penalty minutes and went 3-for-6 on the power play.
