New Ulm and West Michigan were tied at 2-2 at the end of the third period. Fritz Belisle scored the game-winning goal at 1:09 into overtime with an assist from Mac Hankinson. Shots were 33-27 in favor of New Ulm.

Nicholas Guy, with an assist from Nathan Sudek, opened the scoring at 3:36 into the first period to give West Michigan an early 1-0 lead.

New Ulm tied the game with a goal from Alex Egle at 17:17 into the first period. Assists were credited to Luc Kreuser and Fritz Belisle. Dylan Leivermann, assisted by Stephan Hermkes, scored at 17:36 into the second period on the power play to give New Ulm a 2-1 lead.

West Michigan’s Ryan Weaver scored at 5:32 into the third period to tie the game up at 2-2. The lone assist was credited to Bear Ross.

Nathan Siclovan made 25 saves on the 27 shots he faced. West Michigan’s goaltender, Alex Wilder, made 30 saves on the 33 shots New Ulm generated.

New Ulm totaled eight penalty minutes on four infractions and went 1-for-6 on the power play. West Michigan had a total of 14 penalty minutes on seven infractions and went 0-for-3 on the power play.
