New Ulm and Point Mallard were tied 1-1 midway through the first period. New Ulm scored an additional five goals to take the, 6-1, win.

Fritz Belisle, assisted by Alex Egle, opened the scoring at 1:34 into the first period to give New Ulm an early 1-0 lead.

Point Mallard answered back with a goal at 3:58 into the first period scored by Matt Goodman and assisted by Brandon Knopf.

Jared Erickson gave New Ulm a 2-1 lead at 10:09 into the first period on the power play with an assist from Vincent Billing.

New Ulm scored three goals in the second period. Dylan Leivermann netted the first goal of the second period at 6:06. The lone assist was credited to Bennett Witta. Wyatt Peterson, assisted by Jacob Padley and Bennett Witta, scored at 16:54 into the second period to put New Ulm up 4-1. Luc Kreuser scored with 52 seconds remaining in the second period. Vincent Billing and Tim O’Connor were credited with the assists.

New Ulm started the third period with a 5-1 lead over Point Mallard. Fritz Belisle, with an assist from Alex Egle, scored at 1:07 into the third period to give New Ulm the five goal lead.

Jon Albers allowed only one puck to get past him for New Ulm. Point Mallard’s starting goaltender, Kevin Mackey, let in six shots in just over two periods of play. Mackey was pulled at 1:07 into the third period and was replaced by Gary Glassman. Glassman successfully stopped every shot New Ulm generated in the third period.

New Ulm and Point Mallard each totaled four penalty minutes on two infractions. New Ulm went 1-for-2 on the power play and Point Mallard went 0-for-2.
