New Ulm was leading Breezy Point 4-2 at the end of the second period. Breezy Point scored two goals in the third period to tie it up and force the game into overtime and ultimately a shootout.

Breezy Point took a 2-0 lead in the first period with goals from Steven Kukla and Dan Wieber. Tyler Larwood, Ryan Higgins, Steven Kukla and Drake Hill each registered one assist in the first period.

Dylan Leivermann got New Ulm on the board at 18:28 into the first period with an assist from Vincent Billing. The first period ended with New Ulm trailing Breezy Point 2-1.

Nicholas Campbell tied the game up at 4:24 into the second period. Stephan Hermkes was credited with the assist.

Breezy Point’s Wyatt Stotts was called for interference at 11:51 into the second period which resulted in a penalty shot for Luc Kreuser. Kreuser scored to give New Ulm a 3-2 lead.

Kreuser scored his second goal of the game at 16:23 into the second period. The assists were credited to Fritz Belisle and Alex Nagel.

Breezy Point’s Tristyn Sabina and Ryan Higgins each scored one goal in the third period. Wyatt Stotts, Josh Laven, Dan Wieber and Nikolas Boyer each registered one assist in the third period. The third period ended all tied up at 4-4.

Nathan Siclovan stopped 25 of the 29 shots Breezy Point generated. Breezy Point’s goaltender, Bronson Moore, made 31 saves on the 35 shots he faced.

New Ulm had a total of four penalty minutes on two infractions and went 0-for-3 on the power play. Breezy Point totaled six penalty minutes on three infractions and went 1-for-2 on the power play.
