North Iowa put constant pressure on goaltender Nathan Siclovan, generating 45 shots on goal. New Ulm totaled 26 shots and was only able to score one goal on North Iowa’s goaltender, Brady Meyers.

Tyler Bump opened the scoring for North Iowa with 31 seconds remaining in the first period. Sean Mallonee and Shane Bernhardson were credited with the assists.

Connor Clemons gave North Iowa a 2-0 lead 1:29 into the second period, scoring on the powerplay with assists from Mallonee and David Dolter.

Trevor Woytcke, assisted by Alex Nagel and Alex Egle, scored the lone goal for New Ulm at 6:22 into the second period.

Josh Arnold and Mitch Parsons each scored one goal for North Iowa in the second period. Owen Larson, Jake Joyaux, Horka Sekesi and Mallonee each registered one assist in the second period.

Bump, in addition to scoring the first goal of the game, he also scored the final goal at 9:20 into the third period with assists from Clemons and Dayton Honkanen.

New Ulm and North Iowa both had a total of eight penalty minutes on four infractions. New Ulm went 0-for-3 on the power play and North Iowa went 1-for-3.
