New Ulm was trailing Breezy Point 3-1 at the end of the second period. New Ulm was able to net two in the third period to tie the game up at 3 and force overtime. Sam Storlie scored the game-winning goal 2:29 into overtime to take down Breezy Point, 4-3. New Ulm dominated in shots 50-22.

Breezy Point opened the scoring with a goal from Austin Langworthy at 6:37 of the second period. Nikolas Boyer was credited with the assist. Nick Blanchette gave Breezy Point a 2-0 lead just over a minute later with an assist from Steven Kukla.

Fritz Belisle got New Ulm on the board, scoring on the power play at the 9:59 mark of the second period. Alex Nagel and Steven Mordini were credited with the assists.

Breezy Point’s Wyatt Stotts, with assists from Josh Laven and Boyer, scored a power-play goal 12:31 into the second period to give Breezy Point a 3-1 lead to start the third period.

Vincent Billing and Belisle each scored one goal in the third period. Jared Erickson, Sam Wenner, Nagel and Luc Kreuser each tallied one assist in the third period.

Nathan Siclovan faced 22 shots and made 19 saves for New Ulm. Breezy Point’s goaltender, Magnus Lindhe, made 46 saves on the 50 shots he faced.

New Ulm had a total of six penalty minutes on three infractions and went 1-for-5 on the power play. Breezy Point totaled 10 penalty minutes on five infractions and went 1-for-3 on the power play.
