New Ulm had a 4-0 lead nearing the end of the second period. Granite City tried to make a comeback starting with a goal at the 18:30 mark of the second period. Granite City scored three goals in the third period and New Ulm was able to net one more in the third period. New Ulm outshot Granite City 44-33.

Jared Mickelson, Steven MordiniDylan Leivermann, Max Kjome and Fritz Belisle each scored one goal for New Ulm. Vincent Billing and Luc Kreuser each registered two assists. Mordini, Belisle, Orlando Scherz, Benji Mickel, Alex Egle and Vitaliy Nosov each tallied one assist.

Andrej Jamnicky, Braden Altena, Keenan Lund and Matthew Sprink each scored one goal for Granite City. Logan Neu, Owen Sikich, Lund, Casey Esselman and Altena each tallied one assist.

Nathan Siclovan made 29 saves on the 33 shots he faced for New Ulm. Granite City’s starting goaltender, David Mulligan, faced seven shots and made four saves. Mulligan was replaced in net by Mac Berglove at 15:35 of the first period with New Ulm leading 3-0. Berglove stopped 35 of the 37 shots he faced.

New Ulm totaled 10 penalty minutes on five infractions and went 2-for-5 on the power play. Granite City had a total of 16 penalty minutes on eight infractions and went 0-for-3 on the power play.
