New Ulm was unable to withstand the force of the Blizzard, being outshot 44-28. New Ulm has only been outshot by an opponent twice since December 16, 2016.

Vitaliy Nosov got New Ulm on the board at the 10:45 mark of the second period. Jared Erickson and Cory Martinez were credited with the assists.

Alex Nagel scored New Ulm’s second goal 2:05 into the third period with assists from Alex Egle and Stephan Hermkes.

Dawson Ellingworth(2), Caleb Anderson, Tommy Giller, Emil Lindfors, Brendan Payne and Jack Cernohous each scored for Alexandria. Cernohous, Ellingworth, Lindfors, Riley Meyer(2), Alex Bowe, Anderson(3), Tosten Mann and Payne(2) each tallied an assist.

Jon Albers played the first two periods and part of the third period for New Ulm. Albers made 31 saves on the 38 shots Alexandria generated. Nathan Siclovan replaced Albers in net 5:55 into the third period. Siclovan stopped the six shots that he faced. Alexandria’s goaltender, Brey Effertz, saved 26 of the 28 shots he faced.

New Ulm totaled four penalty minutes on two infractions and went 0-for-0 on the power play. Alexandria had a total of two penalty minutes on one infraction and went 0-for-1 on the power play.
