New Ulm and Wisconsin were tied 1-1 at the end of the first period. New Ulm was able to shut down Wisconsin in the second and the third period to take the win and the weekend sweep. Shots were 46-30 in favor of New Ulm. 

Wisconsin opened the scoring with a goal from Austin Lewis at 16:10 of the first period. The assists were credited to Ben Ratner and Taylor Dickert.

Fritz Belisle scored with 1:55 remaining in the first period to tie the game up. Vitaliy Nosov and Alex Nagel were credited with the assists.

Jacob Padley scored both of New Ulm’s second period goals. Padley’s first goal was scored at 6:09 on the power play with assists from Vincent Billing and Bennett Witta. Padley’s second goal of the game was unassisted at 18:38 and gave New Ulm a 3-0 lead to start the third period.

Nagel scored the final goal of the night at the 17:43 mark of the third period on the power play. Steven Mordini and Sam Storlie were credited with the assists.

Jon Albers made 29 saves on the 30 shots he faced for New Ulm. Wisconsin’s goaltender, Alex Hufford, stopped 42 of the 46 shots New Ulm generated.

New Ulm totaled 53 penalty minutes on 12 infractions and went 2-for-8 on the power play. Wisconsin had a total of 95 penalty minutes on 16 infractions and went 0-for-7 on the power play.
