New Ulm had ten different players register points in the, 5-2, win against the Willmar WarHawks.
Ryan Smith opened the scoring 4:01 into the first period. Smith, with the goalie down, dragged the puck around Luke Fry using his long reach
Willmar scored two consecutive goals in the first period to make the score 2-1, which was their only lead of the game. Zach Martin and Jordan Cooper were the goal scorers and Wyatt Toll, Keegan Bauman and Cameron Pries tallied an assist.
Sam Storlie tied the game up at 2-2 with a power-play goal 16:55 into the first period.
Nick Wieben scored the lone goal in the second period to give New Ulm a 4-2 lead. The goal was scored on the power play at the 13:29 mark of the second period.
Dylan Boysen scored his first goal of the season at 13:59 of the third period. Kirk Coppock carried the puck out of the offensive zone and into the neutral zone. Boysen received a pass just outside the blue line from Coppock on the right. Boysen took the puck back into the offensive zone and fired a shot from the point.
New Ulm totaled 10 penalty minutes on five infractions and went 2-for-4 on the power play. Willmar had a total of 14 penalty minutes on seven infractions and went 1-for-2 on the power play.
