The New Ulm Steel shut out the Wausau RiverWolves as Ryan Kenny recorded his third shutout of the season and Jarrett Cammarata had a three-point night.

Steven Mordini opened the scoring with a wrister from down low that went in top shelf at 11:22 of the second period. Tom Reilly scored just 35 seconds later on a 2-on-0 rush with Ryan Smith.

New Ulm took a 3-0 lead at the 19:23 mark of the second period. Jarrett Cammarata intercepted a pass at the offensive zone blue line, taking back possession. Cammarata carried the puck to the net and took a bad-angle shot from near the goal line that went in glove side.

Brian Oare jammed the puck backhand for New Ulm’s fourth goal in the third period at 17:07.

Wausau’s goaltender, Henry Baribeau, stopped 43 of the 47 shots New Ulm generated.

New Ulm totaled four penalty minutes on two infractions and went 0-for-2 on the power play. Wausau had a total of six penalty minutes on three infractions and went 0-for-1 on the power play.
