The New Ulm Steel, after a 1-0 first period, hit their stride in the second and third periods, scoring eight goals against the Breezy Point North Stars. Tom Reilly and Max Kjome each contributed with a four-point night, tallying two goals and two assists.

Reilly opened the scoring at 17:38 of the first period on the rush with Jack Parks. Kjome scored the eventual game-winning goal in the second period at 11:15 with a one-timer from the top of the circle.

Kirk Coppock, Michael Smits, Zach Heiser, Jarrett Cammarata and Austin Langworthy each scored one goal for New Ulm. Luc Kreuser registered three assists and Sam Storlie and Parks tallied two assists.

Breezy Point’s goal was scored in the second period by Connor Beltz with assists from Josh Maucieri and Alex Flicek.

Drew Schenkenberg faced 20 shots and made 19 saves for New Ulm. Breezy Point’s goaltender, Lucas Ehrlich, stopped 43 of the 52 shots he faced.

New Ulm totaled six penalty minutes on three infractions and went 1-for-3 on the power play. Breezy Point had a total of eight penalty minutes on four infractions and went 0-for-3 on the power play.
