The New Ulm Steel is proud to announce that forward Alex Nagel has committed to play WIAC (NCAA D-III) hockey at the University of Wisconsin-Stout.
“I chose UW-Stout because it was the best place for me to continue my hockey career and further my education. Stout has a top notch hockey program with a lot of tradition and a great coaching staff. On top of that, the university will provide an excellent education for my future,” said Nagel.
Nagel, a native of Antigo, Wisconsin, played for the Steel for two seasons where he tallied 46 goals and 71 assists for a total of 117 points in 91 games played.
“I would like to thank all of my teammates, coaches, and the Steel organization for a fantastic two years in New Ulm. I would not have the opportunity to play college hockey if it wasn’t for all of them,” said Nagel.
Nagel, 20, was selected and participated in the 2018 NA3HL Top Prospects Tournament and was the Steel’s point and assist leader for the 2017-18 season. Prior to his time with the Steel, Nagel played at Antigo High School and was their captain his senior year.
