BARIBEAU COMMITS TO THE UNIVERSITY OF ST. THOMAS

The New Ulm Steel is proud to announce that Steel goaltender Henry Baribeau has committed to play NCAA Division III hockey for the University of St. Thomas in Saint Paul, Minnesota.

“I am excited to start my new chapter at St. Thomas while being able to continue my hockey career at a great university and get an education from a fantastic school,” Baribeau said.

Baribeau, a native of Hudson, Wisconsin, played one season with the Steel where he started in 35 games. He ended the season with a .892 save percentage and a 3.71 goals against average.

“I would like to thank the Steel organization and the Black family for putting me in a position to continue my hockey career at the college level. I want to thank all my teammates, coaches, and billet family in New Ulm. And lastly, I want to thank my family and friends for all they have done to further my hockey career,” Baribeau said.

Baribeau, 20, played for the NA3HL’s Wausau RiverWolves the season prior to the Steel where he also started in 35 games. He spent his high school hockey days at Hudson High School, earning a .939 save percentage and a 0.89 goals against average during his senior year.
