The NA3HL Season may be done, but the NAHL is still going. April 12th-15th, Nate Looft was called up to skate with NAHL affiliate Chippewa Steel for practices. This is the second NAHL team that Looft has practiced with this season, he previously skated with the Kenai River Brown Bears in March. Here is what Looft had to say about his time in Chippewa.
“Skating with the team in Chippewa was really fun. I got to see what it is like at the next level and I also got to meet a lot of new people. The pace there was a lot faster than I am used to but I adjusted throughout the week. They are faster and stronger than in New Ulm, even the smaller guys on the team are extremely strong. One of the big takeaways I had from skating Chippewa was that they do all of the little things right, they all know how to do the little things.”
Looft also compared his experience in Chippewa to the time he was with Kenai. “It was very similar. They both did all of the little things in plays right and that is why they are at that next level.” As for his overall experience, this is what he had to say; “I enjoyed all of the people in Chippewa. All of the teammates were great and the coaching staff was really fun to be around. My billets for those few days were really awesome as well!”
