Kelly grew up in Cupertino, CA and has lived in the Bay Area her entire life. She has a business degree from Menlo College and has been a Real Estate Investor and Agent for the last 16 years. Kelly became the owner of the New Ulm Steel at the end of the 2020-21 Season.
Geoffrey Stahl
Owner
Geoff grew up in Maryland where he went to the University of Maryland, College Park earning a degree in Physical Sciences (Aerospace Engineering/Computer Science). He then joined the Navy flying in E-2s and FAI8s for 8 years, reaching the rank of Lieutenant Commander. After Leaving the Navy, he joined Apple Inc. where he has been for the last 21 years, currently a Senior Director leading Apple’s Augmented reality software efforts.
Both Kelly and Geoff were part of the board for Barcelona Bay Area youth soccer club in San Jose, with Geoff also serving as the club’s Director of Operations for 3 years. The club has developed numerous female soccer players who have gone on to commit to NCAA Division I programs as well as play with US Youth National Teams.

Karen started with the steel at the beginning of the ‘21-22 season. Karen has been a part of the New Ulm community her entire life. She grew up in New Ulm, graduated from New Ulm Senior High School in 2002, and is raising her 2 boys Trae and Leo with her husband, Larry, here. She graduated from Rasmussen Business College in 2004 with an Administrative Specialist Diploma. She is involved with the Hanska Women of Today organization and is also a board member for The Women’s Forum – New Ulm. She believes strongly in taking an active role in the community and volunteering.
She is a hockey mom with a 2nd year bantam and a 3rd year 8U Mite in the NUSE (New Ulm-Sleepy Eye) Association. She enjoys watching her boys play hockey, spending time with family, and cooking/baking.

Todd Pfaff
PA Announcer
This is Todd’s 6th Season with the Steel. His first Season was spent doing play-by-play and has since assumed the PA Announcing duties. Todd earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Mass Communications and a minor in Speech form Mankato State University. In addition to announcing for the Steel, Todd is the Plant Manager at DLC Manufacturing & Fabrication, Inc. located in New Ulm.
He has three children; Aaron, Drew, and Karlee. He and his wife, Kelly, have resided in New Ulm for over 40 years. He has a passion for sports! If he isn’t at the rink, you may see him at a baseball game in the summer or a football game in the fall. Todd is an ‘86 graduate of New Ulm Cathedral High School where he competed in 3 sports. He enjoys hunting, fishing, spending time at the lake and spoiling his granddaughter Harper.
